Today, with a team of 80 hard core programmers guided by Mr. S.B. Nair, we are deeply involved in developing and customising cutting edge technology that takes care of Crew Management, Planned Maintenance, Quality and Safety (HSEQ) for ships, Stores and procurement, Crew Work and Rest Hours, Crew Competency Management, P&I, Seafarer Appraisal Management, Ticketing and various other Maritime activities.

S.B. Nair

Managing Director

Mr. S.B. Nair obtained an honors degree in Electrical and Electronics engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. He has worked at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) – currently, India’s largest IT-based organization and largest by market capitalization. He went on to do an MBA from India’s top most management institute – Indian Institute of Management (IIM-A). Later he held senior executive positions with Bush India Limited (Electronics),

Mackinnon Mackenzie & Co. Ltd. (Ship Agency) and J. M. Baxi & Co. (Ship Agency.) These assignments provided him with over ten years of intensive experience covering critical staff and line functions. Mr. Nair started independent software consultancy and entered the arena of software training in 1985. Over the years his software consultancy has implemented international standard turnkey software projects for various industries.

As a master trainer, Mr. Nair has passionately taught advanced IT concepts, Business Process Automation, MIS (Management Information System) and EIS (Executive Information System), RDBMS (Relational Database Management System), Object Oriented Analysis and Design, and Programming Strategies. He has himself devoted over 10,000 hours to training. He has even had the rare privilege of teaching the magic of computers to the physically challenged- a life changing experience.

He has acted as the chief examiner/paper setter for the University of Bombay, (Mumbai), India as well as the Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Maharashtra – India. He was also a panel member of the screening committee of the Department of Electronics (Government of India) as the expert observer for the accreditation of computer institutes. He has held faculty/consultant appointments at the Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, the International Institute for Population Studies, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, and has been a consultant to the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development. He has also served as the consultant national expert on MIS to the Agricultural Finance Corporation Ltd.(AFC) for their Horticulture Specialty Project in India, which they co-ordinated in association with the European Economic Community. He has also played the role of IT consultant to AFC for the extraordinarily challenging assignment in the field of computerization of cooperative banks in the states of Maharashtra, Kerala and Bihar. Mr. S.B. Nair’s inventive entrepreneurial work has found buyers for his ideas and expertise in many parts of the world.

Mr. Nair has also played the role of a Certified Information Systems Auditor (certified by the Information Systems Audit & Control Association, USA).

Sidhardhan

Director

After B. Tech (Electronics & Communications) and MS (Software Systems), Sidhardhan has over 30 years’ experience in the IT and Electronics industry.  His experience spans a wide cross section of industries in this area. BPL Sanyo Technologies, Thomsun Multimedia, Philips Software Centre, and Xerox Corporation are some of the major companies where he delivered excellent results in senior positions. His experience covers R&D, Program Lead, Senior Program Manager, General manager – all India operations are some of the positions he held in the Industry.

Expertise in successfully delivering solutions in a range of domains from embedded systems to Mobile applications to ERP systems and Healthcare solutions.

In the last few years, he has also acquired in-depth knowledge and experience in implementing procedures and process frameworks (CMMI, Agile, Six-Sigma) for product development SDLC and CMMI process methodologies.

Capt. Raman K. Mehra

Retd. Director & shareholder

After graduating from the T.S. Dufferin in 1959 and obtaining his Certificate of Competency as Master (FG) in 1967, Capt. Mehra set sail on Indian flag vessels. As Master for six years he joined Barber Ship Management, Hong Kong. After sailing with them for two years he was based in Bombay as their representative to build up manning from India

In 1982 he was promoted by the Indian Ocean Ship Management Pvt. Ltd now known as Barber Ship Management (India) Ltd. to take care of the increasing business of Barber International from India. He was the Managing Director of the company till he retired in March 1999. Capt. Mehra successfully increased the manning of the BARBER fleet from 5 to 125 vessels.

He also acted as managing director for Bergesen D.Y. (India) Pvt. Ltd. till he voluntarily retired from service.

Capt. Mehra continues to be on the board of both the companies as Non-Executive Director.He is a founding member and ex-Chairman of FOSMA (Foreign Owners and Ship Managers Association), a body formed with the primary interest of serving the Indian seafarers in the field of maritime education and training.

After gaining sufficient experience and knowledge on the working of different departments in Ship Management he decided to join the software industry to develop products that best suit the maritime industry. The insights he provides, gives us critical information necessary to develop a world class Maritime ERP solution that has stood the test of time!
